Pomona State School is situated at the base of the
majestic Mount Cooroora in the old town of Pomona west of the tourist area
of Noosa Heads on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Our school opened in its current location in 1976.
However, the school itself is over 100 years old and as such, shares much of
the town of Pomona’s history. The school is experiencing a growing
reputation as a school that provides a holistic and quality education for
its students. It is also a school that is growing with our enrolments coming
from families moving to Pomona from interstate and around Queensland. We
currently have approximately 300 students enrolled from Preparatory Year
(Prep) to Year 7. The school has a special small community ‘feel’ which we
are working hard to preserve and enhance.
On the other hand the school is an exciting, innovative
educational establishment that caters for students from 4 years to 13 years
of age. Our students and many of our staff live in areas surrounding the
school – Pomona, Federal, Boreen Point, Kin Kin and Cooroy.
Our school is a wonderful place to come to each day for
everybody – students, teachers, ancillary staff and parents. We pride
ourselves in having created together a school of togetherness and fun. And
we have an experienced and dedicated staff
committed to creating a school of excellence for all.

All members of the Pomona community contribute to a
school that works together to promote and develop a love of learning in a
range of contexts. We seek to understand children’s individual differences
and to provide learning programs that complement how individual children
learn.
Our purpose is simply stated - to provide opportunities
for every student at our school to obtain the best educational outcomes –
with our school motto being Sibi Fidelis – Be true to oneself.
